Front Spoiler/Splitters

I moved this from Rear Spoiler as it's more relevant in it's own thread.
This is a copy of the last post in the previous thread

Not the very best photograph, as you can't see much of the detail in black. never the less front splitter is now at the "ready to start moulding" so this is the finished shape.

At a rough guess if I manage to sell 10 they will cost about £250-275each ($500-$550 approx) in a Kevlar carbon mix which would need to be finished with a coat of paint, or maybe about double that in straight Carbon which obviously wouldn't need painting and would come Lacquered and ready to fit.

This is the spoiler (below) pre final finishing, this shot gives a better idea of the shape. Obviously the final spoiler will finish on the crease line where it joins the bumper (and not continue up to where the paint finishes, this is only to get the mould to realease as we start to make the master)

I'm quite happy to discuss what people want. Anybody interested please post in this thread with preference for a Carbon spoiler/splitters or a Composite Material which will require Painting.

I think I would be interested in a paintable version. How would this attached, existing holes and some drilling? What kind of guarantee? What do you think the delivered price would be to California? Would like to see one installed on a car.

Thanks for the complement Joe, Would have been easier if somebody else had done something that I liked at reasonable money.!!
As far as fitting, at the moment it will use existing clips and rivets with maybe an extra one in each wheelarch, but we'll see as it comes together.
Unfortunately I’m flat out at work at the moment, so am sending it to a mould maker and he can only start on the mould 2nd week Feb. But promise to resurrect the thread as and when I have any news.

I would be interested also. I might think that a black CF finish would be really popular. If I could only get it unfinshed, I would send it to BumperPlugs to do the paint.

That really looks good! I've been looking into options for lip spoilers and the techart looks good, but the price damnit. To me the fear of chipping and cracking would prevent spending too much cash.

Is it possible to do a carbon fiber finish over fiberglass? I'm sure you are aware of the different color options available, such as silver, red, yellow weaved into the carbon. That would be schweet!

Tess, I notice at least one member up there who does not have a Cayman and has said that they will never buy one so act accordingly.

It's late here, but I thought you said that you wanted a Carbon Fibre one unfinished so BumperPlugs can paint it I would have thought that would be ideal for the composite one??
But of course you can have anything you wish.......you could be a customer one day

Tess,

I like !

One of the best looking front splitters I've seen, and I like the target price(s). Not really sure which version I'd prefer yet - probably the composite, but I could work iwth either version.

Please keep us posted.
