Thanks, I'd missed that thread in a month of in depth reading. I may just go that way eventually. It still seems like manual mode on the spoiler would be an easier solution assuming the right computers talk to each other and if Scott had time to dig out the right bits in the code. In the meantime I'll just leave it off in the flash.
Vdeng -
When you purchase from Scott - ask for the Sport Chrono ON option - you will then have the sport chrono increased sensitivity of the throttle and reduced interference from the PSM.
The Sport Chrono ON Permanently gives you a 'sportier' feel when driving - it is a software only improvement - nothing to get from the dealership......
Karel:
Reduced interference from the PSM! does that mean after the flash, the PSM will be shut off? For regular driving, I still think the PSM is important for safty!
Please advise.
Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
PSM - Porsche Stability Management
While it can’t overcome the laws of physics, the revolutionary Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system does lend an added degree of balance and control to the Cayman’s mid-engine driving dynamics, inspiring surefooted confidence in corners and extreme situations.
A standard feature on the Cayman and Cayman S, PSM continuously monitors steering input, road speed, yaw velocity and lateral acceleration to calculate the actual direction of travel. If the car begins to steer off line, PSM instantly intervenes with precision brake inputs on individual wheels to help bring the car back onto the driver’s intended path.
If braking alone isn’t enough to correct the vehicle’s cornering line, PSM then calls on the Cayman’s engine management system, adjusting engine output as needed to help stabilize handling. PSM can also compensate in an instant for mid-corner changes in load resulting from deceleration or braking. When Sport mode is selected with the optional Sport Chrono Package, PSM’s threshold for intervention is raised, allowing for greater driver involvement. If you prefer driving without automatic PSM assistance, the system can be set to standby at any time. In this case, it will only intervene under heavy braking, where both front wheels exceed the ABS threshold.
For all of its technical ability, PSM goes virtually unnoticed in everyday driving situations, preserving the Cayman’s natural agility.
. . . Reduced interference from the PSM! does that mean after the flash, the PSM will be shut off? . . .
It doesn't shut PSM off (to do that you still have to use the PSM button) - it just gives you a little more leeway (to get the tail out, or wheelspin) before it kicks in.

Plenum
The plenum is the piece that goes between the Cayman throttle body and the intake runners. The factory piece is a long black plastic tube with a divider down the middle. There are aftermarket replacements which are designed to allow the air to flow easier/faster into the engine and increase horsepower and torque.
Softronic
SOFTRONIC produces DME programming and hardware to suit your companies specifications. Our current software suite is a complex matched set of programs housed in a Flash Manager and Flash Client. This software is matched with two cables, an End User and Master Cable. The SOFTRONIC proprietary flashing solution outperforms all other combinations in speed and accuracy including the factory Porsche equipment.
Scott,
Have not heard anything on the 2.7 version on whether that is even developed yet. Never the less I have paid on faith. I am hoping that I will not be let down.....
