Antarctic trip

I'm thinking about taking a cruise to Antarctica in the next year and wondered if anyone here has any input? Has anyone been on any cruises like that? A place called G.A.P. adventures has an Antarctic cruise + Patagonia adventure at a reasonable price.

I'm looking for something really out there for my next vacation.

My wife and I went on an Antartic cruise for our honeymoon and it was one of the best trips we've ever taken. We plan to go back sometime after we do a few other places. Everything about the trip was amazing, all the wildlife and beautiful scenery is unreal. I shot over 10 gigs of pictures while we were there. Plus it really is kind of an adventure. They have places they plan to go, but it can change due to the weather, ice, etc. We saw an Emperor Penguin and they decided to try to get down to a nesting sight for them, but we had to turn back because the ice was getting too thick. Be prepared for some very rough seas because the Drake Passage has some of the roughest seas in the world.

We went with Abercrombie & Kent on the Explorer II, and while certainly not the cheapest, they were very good. There were many people on the same ship who were not with A&K, which gave my wife a great idea for our trip last year to the Galapagos. She found which ship A&K was using and booked using someone else. We have not taken a trip with G.A.P. Travel, but the expedition leader on our cruise actually worked for them.
