I know where that Hwy 115 is..it's not a place to be doing that kind of speed.

As for the 10k fine, I'm glad I'm no longer living in Ontario! BTW, you'd have to get caught first.

Look Out after Saturday

CURTIS RUSH
STAFF REPORTER
Ontario’s new street-racing
law comes into force Saturday
at midnight, and OPP Sgt.
Cam Woolley says drivers
will be shocked and awed.
If a driver is caught going 50
kilometres over the speed
limit, police will impound the
vehicle for seven days, issue a
minimum $2,000 fine and
suspend the driver’s licence
for seven days.
“This is going to be a good
day for safety,” says Brian
Patterson, president of the
Ontario Safety League.
And what a difference a day
will make for many.
On Saturday, if you are
caught going 160 km/h in a
100 zone, you would receive a
summons to appear in court
and be on your way.
A few hours later, under the
new law, that same offence
will get your car impounded,
“and you better get your bus
pass out,” Patterson says.
Street-racing law takes effect

Big change from the old days... I got a speeding ticket back on the late 80s traveling between Toronto and Detroit (401??? if I remember) I was doing 110MPH. (not KPH) When the officer stopped me his first reponse was to ask why I pulled over. He said that he was driving a POS Chrysler and that he never would have caught me if I hadn't slowed down
I think the total fine was something like $40 CDN.
