Very Informative.
Sounds like they are all very different cars and very different experiences.
For an average driver like me I guess the GTR could really help make me look better than I am. The GT3 sounds like I'd have to learn to really drive to get the most out of the experience and car.
IMHO, had he gotten the sport cups up to temperature he could have bested the GTR's time. The GTR had the newly developed RE070 which is a street tire and has more traction at lower temperatures.
But maybe that's just an excuse. I'd still much rather have a GT3... preferably RS for the lightweight flywheel and more downforce.
And the GT-R is still not available in the U.S. I don't know how we can draw conclusions about real life performance when you can't even drive the Nissan in the states yet.

ChrisN will be getting his in September. Expect extensive testing versus Cayman S, 997 Turbo, V10 M5.
A Nice review of the Bedford Autodrome too. Our Favourite track in the UK.
The report was on one of the short courses, still using the 3/4 mile Straight - topped out at 130mph with the GT3 - and also equalled by our Caymans, as we come out of the hairpin before the straight much faster..........
The full course is 4.23 miles .......... A Joy and a Delight............
