Of course not. If you look on the wall she is standing in front of, this is a pretty dated speech. I can't quite make it out, but it looks like 1982 or 1992. Also from the statistics she used (i.e. world population 5 billion) a little out of date. Nevertheless, no one was listening to her.

Thankfully there are enough adults who realize that 12 and 13 year olds are not the best arbiters of how we should all live.

The best part of the speech is how it illustrates the idiocy of the doom and gloom concerns of 16 years ago that have not come to pass. The ozone hole is closing. In fact, it is now being blamed for global warming.

Salmon? We know now that runs vary wildly from year to year.

Share? She produces nothing. She has nothing to share.

The naivety of children is particularly attractive to some adults. Mostly child molesters and liberals.

She is the daughter of David Suzuki. Not just some random babe from whose mouths spouts divine truth, by the way.

Hey Dave, did you join that "politically incorrect" group yet, the one I created weeks ago just for you?

Oh and more to the point: I'm with Dave 100%.

And I did force myself to sit through all six minutes forty two seconds of globalist socialist browbeating propaganda expertly regurgitated by this arrogant, ignorant youngster. If you thought the early 1930s were good years, by all means do what she says.

If only we were wise enough to listen to the voices of youth.

Another child of the left raised well by loving parents. Only 3 and a half. One day I expect to see her in front of the United Nations. Maybe when she is 10 and the youngest cabinet member in the Obama administration. We can just hope for change.

I couldn't even get half way through the video. You can't live your life preoccupied or in fear or you'll regret it on your death bed.

You just reminded me of an article from a London newspaper. Opening paragraphs:

from Life Style Extra (now "London South East"), 2007-Feb-23:

Quote:
'UK Kids Are Greener Than Their Parents'

Britain's kids are greener than their parents with one-in-10 youngsters saying that they regularly lose sleep over global warming, reveals a new survey.

Warnings about the environment from celebrities and politicians have affected Britain's children so much that half of the country's seven to 11-year-olds say they often worry about it.

And kids are pressuring their parents to become more green because they fear for their own futures.

Ten per cent of the 1,150 kids polled by supermarket Somerfield say they often stay awake until the early hours fretting about the planet.

The main concern for worried children is the welfare of animals, with 46 per cent worrying that they may become extinct if global warming continues.

But they are also worried about the effects climate change may have on their own lives, with 36 per cent fearing they may suffer poor health or even die as a result of global warming.

One-in-seven (15 per cent), British kids blame their own parents for the problem, while more than one-in-four (28 per cent) say that politicians have a responsibility to manage climate change.

[...]
yeah.

You're wrong about one thing Dave. She did have something to share, a socialist philosophy that will doom our economy if we ever adopt it!
