2009 Corvette ZR1 beats Nissan GTR Time of 7:2at Nürburgring with Record

It's not just a muscle car for going straight, it seems to also handle well and just beat the Porsche GT, GT2, Koenigsegg, and Nissan GTR on the Nürburgring:

Corvette ZR1 Laps Nurburgring in 7 min 26

That lap time was taken from a rolling start. Is that how the other car times were done too?

This just goes to show you that the C6 Vettes put a lot of naysayers to rest. The car is a great car to have, but they just need to work on fit and finish as well as the interior components.

What is up with the Redneck blue calipers? What was wrong with yellow?

Either way, the GT-R is still the better car given the price and the fact that it comes with a dual clutch tranny.

Obviously the blue calipers are just part of the theme, just as a few other color matched components shown in the photos. I happen to like them. Pretty cool.

Did you read.....635 bwhp???? OMG!

Corvettes are great cars, but the ring rewards HP more than most 2-3 mile road courses.

Wait for GT-R V-Spec. GT-R versus ZR1 is like comparing a Carrera S to a GT3/GT2.

Also, ZR1 will be 50% more expensive (MSRP).

That said, ZR1 seems like and amazing machine. I wouldn't mind a yellow one (or are they all that ugly Blue Devil color?) for track use, but prob wouldn't want to drive on street.
