Oregon-Washington-Canada Restaurants Recommendations

We are taking a road trip in our CS in a couple of days. We will be driving out of our home base in California. We will be stopping in Coos Bay, Astoria and Portland Oregon as well as Vancouver Canada. Can anyone recommend any restaurants in these areas? Any must see or to do items? Thanks

Ahem, this doesn't belong in "Cayman Chat" forum, please try to post in the appropriate forum, in this case - off-topic.

I have some recommendations for Portland if you want them...

For Seattle, you can't go wrong with

Welcome to Tom Douglas Restaurants

Check out his restaurants. Range from white tablecloth dining to counter service at his Dahlia Bakery. Haven't yet had a bad meal at any of his restaurants.

I moved it for you, just try to post in the right place next time please. As for Portland there are several good places downtown, Jakes is one that I like for seafood and I'll have to look up the name of the place a few blocks up from there that is a good thai-fusion spot.

I live in Vancouver, WA, just across the Columbia River from Portland and work in Hillsboro, OR which is just west of Portland. So I do eat over there a lot.

As Ken said, Jake's downtown is very good.

Salty's is also good for seafood, it's on Marine Drive on the Columbia River. It's also right at the end of a runway from PDX which is interesting. Haven't been there in a while, I should go back soon.

Ringside is a very nice steak place, I usually go to the one downtown on Burnside. There is a second one on the east side of town, I've never been there.

Tuscany Grill on 21st is a good Italian place. My former boss recommended it, she is from Tuscany. There are lots of restaurants on 21st north of Burnside, though it is a pain to park in the area.

Be sure to go to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. Not as large as the Monterey Aquarium but very nice.

I like Mo's Seafood on the coast, they have pretty good chowder. They are in Newport and several other towns. (I'd have to do a search to locate them all.)

Be sure to drive up the Columbia River Gorge east of Portland. It is an amazing place. If you can drive on either the Oregon (I-84) or Washington (state highway 14), I would recommend going up one and back on the other. If you can stop in Stevenson, WA at the Skamania Lodge for lunch or dinner, good food with an amazing view.

Here are three more considerations: In Lincoln City Oregon: The Bay House and The Blackfish Cafe. Downtown Portland Oregon: The Portland City Grill (30th Floor, superb view). All three of these restaurants serve lunch and dinner.
