Yes, it was an inquiry for a 997S but, the interesting part was the sequential multiport fuel injection for 08. I don't know if it translates to the 87S though.

Is that the same as DFI, or just the EFI that the 997 already has? Obviously I'm no expert on the nomenclature...

This is basically the EFI technology that is already being used. All modern EFI systems utilize sequential MPFI.

That's what I didn't know and why I posted it here. My question to them was if the 08s will have DFI and I guess he misconstrued my questioned or sent a canned response. I was hoping it was some new name for their DFI.

I just placed an order for an 08 CS on Saturday and my dealer was of the belief that 08 Caymans will get DFI and doubts that they will be subject to the gas guzzler tax (due to recalculated mileage ratings...which would cause all Cayman models except Cayman 5spd to be below min 22.5 average mpg...based on 07 mpg ratings).

But until I see the new 08 mpg ratings from Porsche, I'll cross my fingers and hope my dealer is correct.
