I remember this as an incredible sequence. Big 80's rival cars head to head on Sunset. Classic. Cars have come a long way.
Jake...owner of Jake's Palace (really The Palace, in Hollywood...) challenges Terry to a race to the beach down Sunset in "Against all odds". Great 80's flick.

+1.
This is one of my all time favorite car chase sequences, enhanced by the presence of a P-Car.
That said, I think the two drivers would have to be classified as suicidal had they tried to do this in real life!
Man that Ferrari sure does make a lot of noise to be going that s-l-o-w!
Cool sound but he ain't moving very fast.
Especially if the 308 is a 2 valve car...those suckers were dogs. When did this come out? 82-84 maybe? I guess it could have been a quattrovalvole, depending upon when filming began.
Edit: Ooops...just realized you were referring to the Paris video...still the 2 valve 308s were slow.

Oh man, I'm still laughing!!!
I watched that Utube (an oldie but goodie) and then paged down a couple to a "Viper vs. Ferrari" video, guy with an British accent narrating a duel between an F355 and a Viper on some twisty road (public???) in S. Cal it looks. Tight road course, F355 takes the lead, Viper forces his way past, Viper ends up going off a cliff, falling 100 feet at least, flips over a few time, guy walks away not a scratch, car toast...which is why I can still laugh...!
When will Detroit learn????
Lance Armstrong sold a million copies of "It Isn't the Bike"....Detroit needs to read, "It Isn't the Engine".

So, so true...but was the Ferrari a F355 or a F430? There hasn't been, to my knowledge at least, a F455. At any rate, both cars would slaughter a Viper in terms of handling and driving experience, but the Viper Vs. the 430 is simply laughable.
