Last three pictures. Warning a lot of pictures. Is that a 917 Longtail with street plates? Now that ought to be a ride ... maybe 240 MPH down the interstate? Then again, it probably doesn't have an Ipod adapter

Reason: Wrong pic referral
I was ready to say something about the plate just being 'decorative' or something, but at the bottom of the page, there's a few pics of the car with a rear plate, and a dude driving it on what appears to be a street. (at least one of the pics appears to be 'closed course' though).

its a 917K, as in Kurz, as in shorttail. not sure if it's a replica but it is RHD so possible? if you heared it run there would be NO mistaking the sound of the genuine article with a flat 12. i did read in R&T years ago of a real 917 being registered in north carolina or something.

Or stability management, or 4wd, or composite brakes, or launch control, or boucoodle electronics, but boy could she lap the 'Ring!
The 917 in question at Cars & Coffee is a replica. I didn't talk to the owner but a buddy of mine talked to the owner. The engine on the replica 917 puts out only 150 HP but the car is extremely light. I forgot what my buddy told me but definitely less than 2,000 pounds. I actually goto Cars & Coffee regularly in my Cayman.

Still a pretty cool car. In fact I saw a bunch of cool cars!

We in zone 8 have seen it around a few times. Here is a pic from the Ventura show 2006. The car was built in Australia and has a six cylinder engine not 12 like the original.
