It was interesting to see how quickly, after the end of the press embargo, Porsche started using the media - and made available a car that couldn't even be seen at any German dealership yet - to get free air time.
Also, since I ordered a white Carrera, I loved to watch the imagery - beautiful car and definitely the right choice.

The story is about Tobias, a young man of 17, who has been building by hand over 150 Porsche models in his workshop over the past seven years.
"Automagazin" learned about his accomplishments and surprises him with a test drive of a brand-new 911S FL.
During this test, the fuel consumption of the new 911S turned out to be between 8.6 and 16.3 liters on 100km, with an average 12.5 liters (between 14.5 and 27.5mpg / average 19mpg); that’s slightly more than 1 liter less than that of the 2008 model.
A surprise for Tobias was the new “Sport Chrono Package Plus” with “Launch Control”:
- step on brake pedal
- PDK to “Drive”
- turn on “Sport Plus”
- fully depress the accelerator pedal (RPMs go to 6500)
- quickly release the bakes
Tobias’ comment: “It’s like somebody behind you pulls you back with the rubberband of a slingshot and suddenly lets go.”
