If you can, please provide some translation for us, especially the part where they mention that the Cayman S is so much better than the new 997.

Ah, you mean this comment: _____________________________________.

Besides this trailblazing statement, there was really nothing that hasn't been published here before: http://www.drivers-republic.com/pdf/..._Cabrio_GB.pdf

It was interesting to see how quickly, after the end of the press embargo, Porsche started using the media - and made available a car that couldn't even be seen at any German dealership yet - to get free air time.
Also, since I ordered a white Carrera, I loved to watch the imagery - beautiful car and definitely the right choice.

The story is about Tobias, a young man of 17, who has been building by hand over 150 Porsche models in his workshop over the past seven years.
"Automagazin" learned about his accomplishments and surprises him with a test drive of a brand-new 911S FL.
During this test, the fuel consumption of the new 911S turned out to be between 8.6 and 16.3 liters on 100km, with an average 12.5 liters (between 14.5 and 27.5mpg / average 19mpg); that’s slightly more than 1 liter less than that of the 2008 model.
A surprise for Tobias was the new “Sport Chrono Package Plus” with “Launch Control”:
- step on brake pedal
- PDK to “Drive”
- turn on “Sport Plus”
- fully depress the accelerator pedal (RPMs go to 6500)
- quickly release the bakes
Tobias’ comment: “It’s like somebody behind you pulls you back with the rubberband of a slingshot and suddenly lets go.”

Some statements:
Commentator
02:20 – “Due to PDK (3500 Euros and worth every Cent), the new 911 accelerates over one second faster (from 0 to 100km). Driving a Porsche without a clutch pedal is more fun than before – sorry, Porsche purists.”
02:42 – “The Porsche 911 has been the #1 German sports car for over 45 years.”
Driver
02:55 – “The weakness of the previous 911 was clearly the interior. The center console, for example, had way too many and too small buttons. This has been substantially improved and modernized. Another problem was the cup-holder, which didn’t support small bottles sufficiently. Sadly, that’s still the same. Not good.”
Commentator
03:23 – “The Carrera S has hardly any weaknesses – this car doesn’t get older but matures permanently.”
Driver
03:30 – “I don’t know any other car that combines the factors sportiness, everyday usability, prestige, image and tradition in such a genial way as the 911. But sadly, Porsche lets you pay a dear price for it. The same car could be had four years ago at a considerably lower price.”
Commentator
03:45 – “The 911’s price went up about 9000 Euro since then. That’s no surprise, Porsche invested a couple of 100M Euro into its continued development.”
