Warming up to PDK

OK, so I went for my second test drive this week in a 911S equipped with PDK. I have to say, it must be THE slickest auto I've ever driven, for sure...and, even though the car I drove had only 10 miles and I didn't want to wind her up too far, you can tell that there is very little power loss anywhere in the drivetrain and that the shifts would probably "hit" very nicely in the upper ranges of the tach. It seems very efficient and direct...not at all what I'm used to with autos.

I'm still not sure I could order a car with it...over $4K for an option I'm undecided about is a bit much. Plus, I'm not sure it really fits the persona of the Cayman, but I will reserve judgment on that until I drive a Cayman with PDK. It seems to fit the 911 like a glove...with one exception.

Has anyone else who has driven a PDK 911 felt like it just couldn't be driven as aggressively as a stick? Is this just some head trip I have going on that is exacerbated by the greeness of the car and the restraint I had to exercise? It just didn't seems as, ummm...hungry at lower speeds as my CS or other 911s I've driven. Downshifts seemed a little lackluster, but that could be restraint again, or it could be the fact that I'm used to my Fabspeed equipped CS wailing away!
