Porsche Rushing out a 911 facelift...means

Well lets see

VAG will be making 7 speed DSG gearboxes next year, Porsche are now hinting that the 911 S will have 370 BHP. Now WHY would they rush out a Facelift and power lift?

IF they were planning on CAYMAN UP GRADE..................?

Look at Autospies for the 911.

Of course they are planning on a Cayman upgrade. So what's the point. If the Carrera S moves up 15 maybe the non-s will move up 15 too and maybe the Cayman will move up 15 or the 25 it gets shortchanged by not having the 3.6l engine. If you wait long enough there will be a 400+HP Cayman, but at what price and how many miles will you have enjoyed in the mean time?

The car industry is changing so fast, cars these days last so long that there is no real reason to trade for a newer model. However the car makers know that to stimulate sales you should bring out new deratives to get people back in to part with their cash. I feel BMW facelift there cars so foten I would not buy one as you will always be in the old model.

Porshce have it just right, same models tweaked every 3-4yrs. the Cayman will get more power but not for at leasttil the '08 model year at the very earliest but can't see it til the '09 year.

Where, EXACTLY, has Porsche said anything about a mid-year facelift. If your reading rennlist, its all rumour with no substance others than people who want it to happen. Some definitive proof please?

And besides, so what? As others have indicated, cars always get more HP, better handling, more expensive, etc. So what?
