Spied: 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S

http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/...carrera-s.html

Don't think anyone has post this yet, but pretty interesting. Got some nice pics with this link as well. New LED lights are here to stay across the board.. The article say probably no engine change, but my personal guess is it would, and probably at least Direct Injection. And maybe.. Dual Clutch setup. But these are just my own guesses..

Spy photos are great fun, but how in the heck does C and D know this is an '09? Changes are pretty subtle to me and nothing that couldn't be enacted by next model year. And when they start speculating about what's under the hood....

I know that I have read in more than one place that Porsche was doing a major re-design for MY 09, as well as a major increase in power. I even remember reading that the 911 would get some C-GT like features. Guess I was dreaming. Maybe they were actually talking about the Cayman line. That'd be great!

In all honesty, I saw these yesterday on another board and I don't think this is the much-rumored 998, it's too subtle. I mean, it's basically the same car with some masking on the lights and revised bumpers... Is it possible there might be a small refresher for MY08 and this is that car, and when the 998 comes out, you will see something bolder?

Probably 09 model coming out in 08, they always do that. To me it does look more like a refresh than a new 998. The 997 haven't even been out that long..

I'd just like to add something else...why do they have differant wheels on test cars?
Always on BWW's and even this 911.

When I was watching BMW's road to a car on Speed, the making of the 6 series, wheel decision was one of the last steps before marketing and after all testing. That could be why, but it's just a guess. I think those are just blacked out carrera IIIs, though I can't see the back wheels.
