I love my Cayman S and I would not trade it for a Boxster. But I recognize the Boxster is a better deal, and the Cayman is overpriced. What other car do you find that the rag top is cheaper than the hard top? I do not know of any.

If I was worried about resale I would have purchased a Boxster. In my case I purchased for the long haul, ( I hope), and I do not like ragtops in my climate. I also did not want to deal with the rattles that all ragtops develop.

In any case the Boxster and Caymnan are brothers and they will grow or wane together.

I read this before on the Porsche site and I interpreted the sales numbers diferently. THe "Boxster series" total of 10,000+ cars uses combined Boxster and Cayman sales with Cayman Sales repreenting 6,000+ cars. If you add the Cayenne (13,000+), 911 series (13,000+) and the Boxster series (10,000+) you get to the 36,000+ total. Frankly given the option set included within the 911 series (911, 911S, C4, C4s, all with Cab options, plus Turbo and Gt3 versions), I think Cayman sales (while not spectacular) are pretty competitive. Besides, it's quality not quantity that counts!

Your reading that wrong. The Cayman is part of the Boxster Series.

Boxster sales are 3904
Cayman sales are 6249
