Interesting. I wonder whether the average Cayman buyer 'stretches' more to afford the car and the current economic downturn is causing people to think twice.

Or maybe they all went out to order GT-Rs.

Boxster market has been saturated for some time. There are many used Boxsters around of varying vintage and price to suit any budget. Used Cayman's are available but not to suit any budget. Additionally, Cayman offers Porsche coupe at a non-911 price which may attract some first time buyers that could not afford 911 but want Porsche cache. I think the "early adopters" opted in within the first 18 months. I suspect that the market for the 987s will remain slow or even slower in North America. I can't see another 30HP or even DSG/PDK igniting sales. We should all be glad that the 911 soldiers on because when the day comes that sales tank consistently, Porsche will need a big ace up its sleeve.

Dave, the trouble is that the 911 was down in sales even more than the 987 line! The Cayenne, unbelievably (to me anyway) is up and doing it's job of providing income for our beloved sports cars! Long live the Cayenne, although I'll probably never buy one!

Without looking at our numbers that we track I believe last February was the worst month for Cayman sales wasn't it? They picked up as the year went on.
