Here are some pics and a video of the tail of the dragon. It is a blast. The camera is crooked, so it looks like I'm in the middle of the road. I'm really in my lane I'm not sure if the video can be embedded. The link is Tail video

Honestly smounic,
You just made my year...! I've been looking for a place like that all my life. Pike's peak is nothing!
Was that music an overdub or from the car's speakers..? (who was it, enya/Hooverphonic'ish)
Let me know if you want to head over in a pack of Caymans. I'm in a suburb of Memphis, which should be right on your way. It would be a blast to have a CaymanClub get together going through the dragon. I bet we could easily get 20-25 cars. We had 13 when we met up in Atl and it isn't far from there. We can make it the Croctoberfest South

I added the music after the fact. There is some that I was playing, but the wind and engine noise drowns it out. Music always adds to the experience of the movies. The first song is ATB - I don't wanna stop (clubb mix), the second is Jack's Suite mixed by Paul Oakenfold, and the third is Armin - Simple Things. I'm into club music and it fits well to a spirited drive. Glad I could make your year
TBD - Torque Biasing Differential
With an ordinary open differential, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheel spin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip, along the path of least resistance. The torque capacity of the TBD/ATB unit is increased or decreased by varying the helix and pressure angles of the gear teeth. The operation is automatic and the unit is a direct replacement with the stock differential. There are no clutch plates as in more conventional limited-slip designs.
The Torque Biasing Differential or A.T.B., however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel. In drag-race style, straight-line acceleration runs, this results in a close to ideal 50/50 power split to both drive wheels, resulting in essentially twice the grip of an ordinary differential.

Or do it on the way to the Rock 'n' Croc 2 (10/18-19) starting in Clemson, SC. You must run the Dragon early in the day to avoid traffic, "early" means "at daybreak". In October, during leaf watcher time, even early may not be early enough! "The Dragon" is an 11-mile long, 318-turn portion of US-129.
