Hwy 33 in Southern California

Today we tried a road I have known about but never driven. Called the Ventucopa Hwy, it runs from Ventura on the coast to Maricopa in the San Joaquin Valley. (From there it continues North up the West side of the Valley.) Mostly twisties in the mountains, peaking juat over 5000ft. Includes Wheeler Gorge and Sespe Gorge. Really great scenery, few cars, but quite a few bikes and motorcycles. About 80 miles. Took a few pix at one spot.

Watch out when entering Maricopa. The city limits are well before the village, and local police are watching the open highway. No radar detector warning either. Oh well, my first California ticket in 39 years.
