Unfortunately both Rock n' Croc and the Porsche Parade events overlap with other commitments for me this year. Ken has me seriously thinking of attending CroctoberFest since I'm batting 0 for 2 on events this year.
Is anyone here thinking about driving down to Atlanta for event?

I am giving it a thought but an 1,900 mile round trip is a tough one to convince my good lady that it's good use of our vacation. I am sure there are ways of getting the car there, then flying down. Lets see.....
(I'll have to disguise 'Tango' aka my Cayman Cab if I go to this too )

Anyone seriously thinking of going from our Zone? It would be nice to put together a caravan of sorts.
I'm thinking it would be a 2-day drive with an overnight stop around Greensboro, NC before rolling into Atlanta at a decent time.
For the BMW fans here, it looks like our route takes us past Spartansburg and BMW HQ. Think it'll be worth a detour to visit the 2nd day as we head towards Atlanta?

Sorry you won't be with us for Rock'n'Croc this time around. We'll be traversing a few of the same roads on the Croctoberfest Rally.
The BMW plant and museum near Spartanburg are definitely worth a visit. The museum (called the Zentrum) has some neat stuff and it's free! The plant tour is interesting, but you need to sign up for it in advance.
So far it only looks like only myself and one other Zone 1 member is planning to attend. That's a long drive for two cars, any more people considering the trip?

Pete, I am still considering attending Croctoberfest this year. I may not be able to commit until later this summer when my fall schedule becomes clearer. About how far is it to Greensboro, NC from NYC?

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
Greensboro is about 8 to 10 hrs away from us, basically the limit of what I consider a comfortable day of driving without pushing it. From there to Atlanta would be another 6-7 hrs of easy driving.
