Test Drive Unlimited

I have always been a nut for driving PC games. I have been driving them since the Indy Car racing, Nascar, and the original Test drive and Need for Speed series.

I recently picked up the Test Drive Unlimited PC game and "if your at all into it" it is amazing. Many high end vehicles Lambo, Ferrari, etc. The whole island of Ohau to drive on.

What I really enjoy is using the G25 Logitech wheel with this title because it actually uses the clutch.

To be honest, since the weather here in Ohio is mixed winter/rain, I am enjoying this game until I break out the Cayman.

There's a nasty speed trap Diamond Head bound on HI just before the Hickam exit so go easy around that turn

I have the game for the 360 and it is so amazing, did you know you can get the 911 RUF turbo? That car is amazing. TDU is the most realistic driving game out there/ most interesting, unlike the NFS series. I'll start driving my CS once the MVA issues my learners permit. LOL.

Thanks for the info vanwolfenstien, I'll try it out. I'm really into driving games also. I really liked NFS Porsche Unleashed, It teaches you a lot about the history of Porsche. I wish they would release a new version of it.

Yep it really angers me that the NFS series has been ruined. It used to be a lot better. I had the original one on the 3DO system. The first couple of versions for the PC were more realistic than they are now. I'm afraid the "tuner" culture has reached into some video games and ruined them along with the many cars it's ruined in real life.

I think you will find that the Gran Turismo games are by far the most realistic as far as performance, and ride handling are concerned, very realistic dynamics with the ability to do many tweaks to the suspensions, etc.

I know it does not handle damage, but for road handling of all types of cars its the best

Also GT4 has something like 700 cars to drive, a percentage being variants of the same car.

I recently dusted off NFS Porsche...I think that was a great game. I also agree that it would be amazing with currently video card technology. Does need a upgrade...fun none the less.

By the way, how do you get the 911 RUF in Test Drive Unlimited?

Ken
