BTW, a little more education for you:

"The video game Max Payne contains several references to Hard Boiled, including Bullet Time, a slow motion mode, and many of the relentless action sequences are undeniably similar (a warehouse shootout, for example). One of the game's difficulty modes is in fact called Hard Boiled. More blatantly a password into a mafia barricade is "John Woo". "

So while you might not be old enough to realize where something first came from, and hence you think a later work like Max Payne was the "original" you are in fact mistaken young one. It's ok, now take this hand grenade pull the pin, hold it and count to ten before throwing...

Halo 3 is great. And while we are the subject, Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii is a great single-player game, and I am really looking forward to Call of Duty 4. Even just the multiplayer beta is so much fun!

Bioshock has been out for a couple of weeks on both Xbox 360 and PC that I know of. Very good game, just don't have any spare time to play it...

Bioshock is the best FPS out on any system right now. Actually best game fullstop imho. COD4 is amazing as a pure shooter while it lasts. Halo 3 was unbelievably average unfortunately.

I wonder what the new Turok will be like?

I have a feeling Turok will be kurap. It might "eh" but with so many great FPS out I don't see a need to pick up Turok unless you are a huge fan of the series or something. I mean, Bioshock, Halo 3 MP, Call of Duty 4 MP, Orange Box, Crysis, Unreal Tournament III, and I am sure there are some more AAA FPS I am leaving off the list...

While no guarantee these will be any good, I am keeping my eye on Haze, Killzone 2, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. And that is just FPS...man, I need more $$ for games, and more time!!!

Mass Effect

we're enjoying Mass Effect now - quite reminiscent of KotOR of course (BioWare.) Bionics warping is uber. the storyline is like Babaylon5, in ways, and with voice acting that does not 5uck.

(FYI - if your main character is female there is some groundbreaking lesbianesque interaction. Google it.)

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Any RSV fans out there? Vegas 2 comes out next week and it would pretty cool to play on Xbox Live with some Cayman clubers.

I agree. Does that mean we are old? I just don't get as much enjoyment out of FPS games with a controller. I still play Halo, MOH, etc. on my Mac and kick kid-butt all the time. They never believe it when I say I am 43. Like video games were invented in 1995 or something. LOL.

With that said, let me say without hesitation that the best video game on the planet is/will be Gran Turismo 5 on PS3. With a good steering wheel and driving cockpit there is NO COMPARISON with Forza. Unfortunately Forza with a steering wheel is horrible. I am working my way through the Japanese Prologue version of GT5 right now. Fantastic.

I miss my old school Mac combat flight sim games. A-10 Attack, and F-18 Hornet were so awesome. Every key on the keyboard had a function. My dual-G5 is getting re-deployed into the game room as a flight sim platform with a yoke and pedals.

All work and no play make pmharth a very dull boy.

First Person Shooter.

All of the highest earning folks I know under 45 are familiar with them. The slackers are out on the golf course. Now THAT is a time waster.
