I don't think it will live up to the hype, just because the hype for this game is SO huge, but I do think it will be a great game.
The only thing I don't usually like about Halo, is the annoying brats on XBL. I pretty much try to only play online with friends...random matches can suck bad...IMO
I did a pre-order from Best Buy and I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow. I'm actually going to WAIT to play the damn thing till the new big screen I just ordered gets here in about 5 more days though. My current TV isn't 'halo worthy'! LOL! Arrrggghhhh!!!!!

FYI stayed up until about 4am playing last night and finished the first few levels. So far the graphics are amazing, so much better than prior Halo games, the action/combat has actually required some planning to be successful, and some of the new features and weapons are way cool. I love tearing a turret off its mount and carrying it around with me to wipe out some enemies! It's the Spartan Life for Me!
I'll be picking it up today at lunch and taking the rest of the afternoon off.
For those that hate playing with the typical 12 year olds that you find on Xbox Live, you should check out The Adult Gamer :: Portal
It's a place for gamers that are 21+ that want to play games how they were meant to be played without the 12 year olds that just learned how to swear, and the cheaters/modders/glitchers. It's also not too competitive, so if you just want to have fun, it's a cool place to check out, and fill up your Friends List with cool people. Honeslty, I probably would've cancelled my Xbox live subscription if it weren't for that site...

This game totaly lived up to the hype! The graphics I think rival Gears of War, the attention to detail is amazing. I thought I would just rape since I have a bit of experience playing and owning, but man it's like I never played halo, it will take sometime to get used to. The 4 player xboxlive co-op is awsome, too much good things in this game.
