Unsolicited advertising vs. FYI

To Whom This May Concern:

My recent posting of a topic entitled 'FVD Motorsport performance announcement' was quickly pulled from the Cayman chat area to the 'Unsolicited advertising' forum. Can you help me understand how our community would be made aware of such a new performance offerings from a vendor that is not a sponsor? Are we basically saying that we only want to hear about product offerings for our CSes that originate from Cayman Club sponsors only? That strategy would seem to limit the knowledge made available to our community.

Please help me understand how we are supposed to continue to provide information to our community on solutions/enhancements that will enhance our driving and ownership experience. I have no business affiliation or interest with FDV.

Should I have posted a topic which just states the FDV facts? 'FDV Motorsports now has level 1 & 2 performance offerings for our Caymans' Then questions will be asked as to how much HP gain? How much?Does anyone have pictures ofthe components? etc.

Please provide some guidance.

Regards,

Tracy

Tracy,

That's not what I'm saying at all. What I said was we are in negotiations with them and if they sign up then they get a lot of stuff featured, etc. This would make your post irrelevant so I moved it to the unsolicited spot for now pending that outcome, otherwise, I likely would have left it where it was if there was no affiliation or any violation etc. Don't worry you didn't do anything wrong, this is just a unique circumstance that's all.

Hey K-man S,

Thanks for the clarification. I was caughtoff guard bythe actions of the moderator and now I understand that it was a situation of unique circumstances versus a policy enforcement scenario.

Regards,

Tracy

P.S. I did not see your comment on the bottom of my original message when the message was moved.
