DNS issues

I'm still having DNS issues with Caymanclub.net. I can get to www.caymanregister.org without any problems. It doesn't think that caymanclub.net has an NX record. On caymanregister, all of the avatars are ? because it can't hit the link.

We have to wait for the new DNS records to propogate through the internet, I am actually visiting here by IP address!

I hope this clears up in the next day or so, it should as the records cascade throughout the internet.

Its good for me now. What we usually do at work when we expect a change similar to this is lower the TTL on the DNS entry to 20 minutes or so. It causes an nominal increase in load on your DNS server but it forces clients/caching dns servers to get the update more frequently. If memory server, the default TTL is 24 hours. Food for thought ....

How did you guess

. I use timewarner for my home connection. It wasn't working the other day. I also have a cingular internet modem that worked fine to get to the site when tw couldn't.

Yep that was the problem, Time Warner is notoriously slow for processing DNS updates, that's why others around the country could see it while you and I (I also have TW at home) could not until the TW update was processed. It wasn't a matter of anythin on our web server, it was a matter of major ISP's processing/updating DNS changes that propogate through the Internet.
