I have a Mac G5 with OS X ver. 10.4.7 running Safari ver.2.0.4
I have been on this web site for quite some time. But recently I have started having a problem occasionally. When I open up this site and try to do anything, Safari locks up and I get the spinning wheel symbol and a message saying Safari Not responding. I have to Force Quit safari. I do not have this problem on other web sites and even on this site, it happens only once every 3 times or so. What could be causing this problem ? Thanks.
No idea, I know some Mac users prefer using Camino here instead of Safari you might try that. When we shift software that will get better but I've been too busy to work on shifting software at the moment.
Chandra - I have three Macs in the house (two laptops and a desktop quad G5) and I use Firefox for the Cayman Club and it works perfectly with no problems at all - the the site features work as shown, and it has never locked up. When I use Safari, I do get lockups now and again. There's a lot of java on these pages, and I don't think Safari is reading the code correctly (I'm sure there's someone WAY more qualified to tell us what's wrong), suffice to say - use Firefox (I'm using ver. 1.5.0.6 with OSX 10.4.7) and it'll work great. I've tried Camino here, and it's not quite as robust as Firefox, imo.

Chandra: Many Mac users have reported problems here that they don't have anywhere else. I have an iMac G4 and could not even post on cc until I switched browsers from Explorer to Firefox. While I can now post, I still have a problem similar to yours; sometimes very slow loading, page back click doesn't work, and occasional lock-up requiring a force quit. I didn't have those problems with Explorer, but then I couldn't post either. It appears that something about Macs, regardless of browser, is not completely compatible with the website setup.
I have no problems with the site from linux 2.6, solaris 10, macosx 10.4.7, or windows XP. I've used Safari, Firefox, and IE. The only annoyance is that Safari does not respect newline characters in the posting window. Other than that, its all good.
I thought it was just me, but this site is incredibly slow most of the time for me at both home and work. PC with IE at both places, DSL at home and T1 at work. Today it's actually working pretty good.
