I can't seem to find a local form on here, so maybe we'll make this the Toronto thread.
Few questions I've got:
1) Did you buy your Porsche from Downtown Fine Cars or Pfaff?
2) Where do you get it serviced (espescially if you get service done away from the dealers)?
3) Where abouts in the city or GTA do you live?
4) Favourite Driving Routes?
I'll answer some of my own questions. I bought my car at Pfaff, I haven't had it serviced yet, I live at Yonge and Eglinton, but am moving out to High Park area in June, and my favourite driving routes are out by the zoo, up around Lake Simcoe, or out around Orangeville.
Here's mine (anyone recognize the location?):
* Mods please move this, if there is a Canadian forum I'm unaware of.
I'm from Toronto, but don't live there anymore. And..I don't have a Cayman S...yet.
But some of my favourite routes:
1. Out in the northwest end, Dufferin and Hwy 9;
2. Warden north of Stouffville Rd.
3. Kennedy Rd. above Aurora Rd. on that big hill you can go super fast on - 140km/h is fun, just be careful.
4. Peterborough and Campbellville area, Kawarthas, some nice twisties there
5. Jackson's Point
6. 1000 Islands Parkway
7. Escarpment north of Alliston;
8. Wine country in Hamilton Escarpment and Niagara;
9. Up and down Yonge St. and Yorkville if you want to be seen.
That's about as much an enthusiast can do in Ontario. That's why I'm in Maine now.
I live in the Newmarket area, and my favorite driving routes are Mosport, Le Circuit Tremblant, Calabogie and Watkins Glen. These are the only places where you can really appreciate the CS. I also have a place in the Collingwood area and the back roads between Newmarket and Collingwood can provide some stimulation, but nothing compared to the track.
I bought the CS from Pfaff, and I have only had one service visit there - clutch pressure plate under warranty - and their service was/is excellent. I do get my technical inspections/alignments (for track events) done at AutoSelect in Newmarket which specializes in Porsches.
I think my CS is identical to yours - Basalt Black with 19" Carrera S wheels. Gotta love the look. Do you track the CS ?

go4it - if you head north of Sault St Marie towards Wawa on the TransCanada (Montreal Bay) the roads along Superior are curving, hilly and quite fast - no hairpin type stuff. Saw my first Porsche Turbo in 1980 there - going flat out no less! A little far away but.....I would like to make it to Maine someday though - early fall sounds like a good time of year!

Yeah, SSM is kind of in the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure if I'd want to do that in case the car goes wrong.

hawc,
gtscayman and I share the same appreciation of that stretch of highway. As we discussed earlier, I took a road trip up to Thunder Bay last summer when I needed to put on kms for the break-in period. Many manufacturers (including Porsche-I saw 15 vehicles parked at a hotel up North around 20 years ago!) use that stretch of road for testing (especially winter).
Forks of the Credit is another great road as well.

Oh yes... it most certainly is.
Just got back from there this morning.
One thing I will say about the Forks though is you CANNOT drive it fast. Apart from the speed traps it would be just suicide and totally irresponsible to try and do that road quickly. It's all blind crests and corners. You can't see around any of the bends. But it is a beautiful road to do in 2nd gear and just listen to the engine.
You can get a fire extinguisher mounting bracket for the CS from Mantis in Oakville - around $100 I think. I got the extinguisher from CSC Racing in Newmarket - about $75. At the end of the day, not much different from the Pfaff cost once you factor in gas and your time.
