Unfortunately, I'll be out of the country on 8/4 but would love to get a group together. If we do it some time after 8/14 my friend's GT3 should be in, we can help him break it in
I would like to suggest that anyone interested in a group run in the NYC area please post five dates through October and maybe we can have several runs or if we are lucky a majority on one date. but the 8/4 date is still on so if plans change come on over (just post it so we can expect you).
We had a small turn out yesterday but what we lacked in volume was made up in quality...the roads were empty, police were napping and the cars were very happy....PLEASE REMEMBER TO POST YOUR NEW DATES SO WE CAN GET THE GROUP TOGETHER AGAIN.
Sorry I missed the group, but as noted earlier I was traveling w/ family this past week, 1400 miles in the minivan. Opening the garage when I returned, I was surprised at how beautiful the CS is, I had almost forgotten.
I took a short spin on my usual route early this morning and it was great to be back in the CS. What was the route the group ended up taking? And how small was small? I will definitely try to make the next gathering.
I saw only 1 CS on my entire drive to/from Canada but I did see a red GT3 in Albany and the usual lot of 996s and Boxsters, occasional older Turbos, etc. There were a few interesting cars around Mt Tremblant. I never made it onto the track -- how fun would it be to track the Ody? I guess the kids do have 5 pt harnesses for a reason -- but I passed its locked entrance several times and you could periodically hear cars howling around it from miles away.
Today I saw for the first time another CS in my area, a silver CS passed my house twice while I was washing the cars in the driveway. There may be a new owner in the neighborhood...anyone from here live in Central Westchester?
To answer the questions posted, we had a total of two and the route was as orginally posted, we went up the bronx river to the taconic and down to the bear mt extension which was a series of twisty roads...a real blast. I am really trying hard to get a larger group together and frankly don't understand what I am missing. IF interested, can everyone PLEASE post available dates for the near future. We seem to be all ready and willing but then it fizzles out. I AM OPEN AND INVITE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE THIS WORK!!!!

My Cayman S is on order and won't be here until October but I'm glad to see a grass roots effort here to start putting together weekend runs. I'm always on the lookout for more fun roads in the local area to drive on!
Here are some of the pictures from the start of the run today. Unfortunately didn't see any Caymans!
Until I get my Cayman in November, I'll volunteer to be the official photographer for any Cayman runs between now and then! I'm not sure if I can keep up with a G35 however...
