Can I sign up too? I've just joined PCA a couple of weeks ago, and I'd like to do this. I don't have a fire extinguisher yet. Can I use my motorcycle helmet? It's a very high end Shoei.

Go to the CVRPCA web site, log in and sign up for the DE event your interested in. I can tell you they go rather fast so it might be too late for the Aug event but there are two more events at Lime Rock this year and one at Watkins Glen. I have also signed up for the Oct Watkins Glen DE. Go here , click on Register and then create and account and log in.

I'm not doing the second Roc N Croc. The one in May was great and if you haven't done it yet, its a blast The emphasis is on "spirited" driving and spirited it was. Hope you have some autocross or track experience to get the most out of it.

Metro NY will be Watkins Glen the same weekend as Jaymans crew... and then to Lime Rock Sept 7 & 8...Lime Rock events fill up Very FAST...Whatever you attend, you are gonna have a rippn time! My favorite words at AutoX are "good job jackie... next time more gas!..." I love those words!!
Hoping to see you at events... you should definatly try AutoX with us..Sept 29, and Oct at Tobay.
And check both websites for specs on what you need.

This is not racing. It is Driver's Education, and requires no modifications to your car. Actually, it will involve modifications to the driver

Indeed go out and spectate; I'm sure that the region doing the DE would love to have you there...

Earman, at a DE event you are taught how to drive your car like it was designed to be driven. Years ago the chief instructor at Trackmasters told me that most drivers can only drive their car 30% of what it is capable of being driven at. After your first DE event you will understand just how little you know about your cars limits. A real eye opener and it will take a snow shovel to knock the silly grin off your face. I have been doing events like this for about 5 years now and have not hurt my car yet except for toasting the rear brakes on my Volvo S60R because the traction control kept kicking in.
Sign up for an event and learn at a pace that your comfortable with. Don't drive beyond your ability and drive your car home when its all done. Who could ask for more..

Oh yes, my local PCA, CVRPCA does require a fire extinguisher in your car, everything else your car came with new.
