Anyone been getting tickets for not having their front license plate on in CT? The policeman in Rocky Hill have been setting up safety checks on Saturday and Sunday mornings and i have seen several people getting pulled over on other days for not having a plate on.
Maybe it's just my town, I know it's the law, I just don't know how hard they are enforcing it.
I have been running two Porsche's here for 4 years and never been stopped for that. I know you are meant to have a front plate. It seems that the Police will only ticket you for it if you give them another reason to stop you.
Maybe it's Greenwich for you!

A Porsche looks much better with no front plate at all. It's all about choices; to run the risk with the Police or have a plate on the front all the time.

there is no "all the time" with this product. But I understand your point... Usually this comes down to how often do you drive the car. For the daily drivers its pretty much a must, unless your a glutton for cops' attention...

Both our cars are daily drivers even in the winter. I guess if the cop is having a bad day or you have been pulled over for something else then it may add to the ticket. But it's worth the risk at the moment.

The car get's driven a couple times a week and I think it is more an issue with my town than anything, so I guess I will see how much longer I can fly under the radar.
Thanks,
Mark
Escort Radar
At ESCORT, we're continually improving our line of radar and laser detectors with the best technology. Our latest invention, the GPS-powered PASSPORT 9500ix, is no exception. It provides the best long-range protection against every known radar and laser gun in use in North America, but also incorporates GPS accuracy to silence each and every false alert. It is by far the most intelligent, fully automatic radar and laser detector ever designed. You drive. It learns. End of story. http://www.escortradar.com
I have never had a front plate on any car I have had in CT. The law isn't enforced that much, as it was law, then it wasnt law, then it was law again (from what I have heard)
knock on wood here too. I have almost 20k miles on my CS and most of it here in central CT. No issues yet. But I haven't been stopped for any reason yet either. I was going to keep it under the seat just in case but.......
Have the same question for Washington which does require a front plate. Just couldn't bring myself to mount one on the bumper or use an off center tow hook device. I took the plate and cut it top and bottom leaving the alpha numeric number and the state name. I then squeezed it into the "mouth" under the bumper and added four small black pan head screws to hold it in place. Because the opening is tapered to the rear the plate is firmly held in place by the tension between the plate and the plastic insert. It's very secure and has stayed put at some high......speeds. No problem thus far but it would take an incredibly uptight trooper to hassle me about the "modification" to the plate which apparently is "not allowed" under the rules. My buddies have told me that it looks like a mounted plate when viewed from the front and shouldn't cause a "pull over fix it ticket" from the troopers.
