I live in Westerly, RI (on the border of CT and RI) and would love to get together with other Cayman owners for a fun run, lunch, whatever. The weather is absolutely gorgeous and what better way to enjoy it than with other Porsche's tearing along. I am open for suggestions.
I have talked to USMMA99 about getting together, we never put anything together (my fault because I go in 5 million directions on the weekends). I would love to get together soon!
I hope you get yours soon Gator...you'll love it!!! Where in CT are you? Look at your schedules and see what will work. I hear you about going in a million directions, I have two boys in football which makes the weekends busy, but we should find time.
USMMA, sorry, I assumed you would know the local terms... BUT.... if you haven't been to a DE(drivers education) event you should really try to get to one just to mingle with other Porsche owners and see first hand Porsches doing what they were designed to do.
And best of all its free if your just a guest. Next you'll get bitten by the "Track" bug and you'll be out there yourself. The CVR does what they call "A taste of the track" where you can get a ride in an instructors car and do some hot laps. It costs about $40 and from what I'm told by friends I've brought along, its worth every penny.
The next weekend DE at LRP will be Nov 9. LRP is not allowed to use the track for racing or track events on Sunday so they are normally on Fridays and Saturdays. As I was suggesting, it would be a nice ride if a bunch of guys wanted to drive out into Western CT and spend a few hours at the track.
