I'd figure we start a new thread just to coordinate the meeting points and times of everyone in the Tri-state area that will be heading out to the start point of Lambertville, NJ.
NYPorscheChik, ark3, Croc'ed & Fab911: Meet in Long Island and begin to head west
PistolPete & craiger: will join you guys in the parking lot of the Bulova Corp. center in Queens right off the Grand Central. PorscheChik/ark3, check your PM for specific directions.
FirstCayman: Meet at the Molly Pitcher rest area just south of exit 8A on the NJ Turnpike.
I think I got everyone. earman is not sure if he'll be able to join us this time.
Now the hard part will be to work the meeting times backwards from 8AM and allow for some buffer. The Long Island folks have it the worse. My gut feeling tells me the following:
Long Island crew: meet between 5-5:30AM
Me and craiger: 6AM - 6:30AM
FirstCayman: 7:30AM
FirstCayman, you're closest to Lambertville, what is your estimated time to reach there from the rest area?
Well, I won't be there as I live in California and have prior committments. But it is my Birthday. So have a great time!!!

Guys, I have a hiccup....
If I go on Saturday, I will never make my deadline of Monday the 15th. (I have to work my real job on Sunday, so that is out) to be able to go i would have to have everything 100% done and wrapped up by Friday. No Way I can do that in just 2 1/2 nights.
So, to make me happy, I need someone to be a true "Porsche-brother"... I promised PistolPete to ride navigator w/me... now i feel like a heel... who will be a great guy and extend a generous spirit to Pete? Come on, make me proud!
-Jackie

Things to remember:
1) Bring a picnic lunch - we will be eating lunch in the park.
2) Make sure you fill up your car and empty your bladder before you arrive in the parking lot.
3) Bring 2-way radios if you have them - it's a good way to keep in touch during the drive.
4) Bring money. The park wasn't charging entrance when we visited, but I don't know if the do charge at peak times.
5) Consider nametags...
You will find a coffee shop on Bridge St. in Lambertville for coffee and donuts if you so desire. Also, you will find 2 gas stations at the intersection of Bridge St. and Rte 29 for filling up/emptying out. These gas stations are a short walk from the start point.
Don't worry, we'll be spending quite some time at High Point. We'll have the standard meet and greet - social time. Time to admire the view and also time to grab lunch and chat some more. I think we'll arrive a little after 10am. I do not envisage us leaving before 11:15am.
Also, I will be trying to put together a detour drive of Route 97 once we reach High Point State Park. If I get one person who knows the area to lead the way, then I'll definitely be doing that. If nobody steps up, this detour will get skipped. Not a big deal, as there's another run coming soon that will probably cover this road as well.
I will post more comments about the Long Island caravan route in just a few moments.
I am concerned about being late if we meet at 6 AM. Even if we manage to leave right away at 6 AM, we'll arrive at the Molly Pitcher rest stop (south of 8A on the NJTP) at 7:10. Assuming FirstCayman is ready to go more or less right away, and we manage to leave by 7:15, we'll be about five minutes late for the start of the run and we'll have missed the drivers' meeting entirely. The driving times are all based on Google Maps.
I suggest we target a 5:30 AM meeting at Bulova Corp so that we can meet FirstCayman at 6:45 and comfortably make the drivers' meeting at 7:45.
Any takers?
The start of the Rennlist run aka our 7:45 AM destination (not posted in this thread yet!) is
Lambertville Municipal Court
25 S Union St, Lambertville, NJ 08530
I've PM'ed FirstCayman and he'll meet us at the start point instead of the rest area. The rest area is a bit out of the way for us coming from the north.
We'll now be able to take Turnpike to I-287 to 202 right to Lambertville.
Let's keep the 5:30AM meet time, 30 minutes won't make a difference, I'll be up anyway, and we won't have to rush all the way down.
I'll bring a 2-way (the other one has a bad battery) so that we can at least hear what is going on with the caravan.
-Pete
