I figure the car is still rare enough that this might be fun.
1. AS parked outside the Chase bank in downtown New Cayman, CT. Was my first sighting and had to be the earliest delivery b/c it was about the third week in Jan.
2. AS parked outside Cold Stone Creamery in Stamford, CT a couple of weeks ago. Likely same one as in #1. Are you part of the club?
Number 3 for me today. Again AS on the Merritt Parkway in CT between exits 35 and 36. Location suggests that this may be the same car as I've seen before, but I'm pretty sure it was the TC interior, which the others weren't.
Only have spotted my own. Watched a guy orbit my car about 5 times in the parking lot outside of a food/liquor store today - talking on his cell phone constantly like he was describing it to someone. A couple in their 70s crossing the street in front of me stopped and pointed - she was saying Porsche. Kids have yelled "cool car" from the side walks, it goes on.
Hey NewPorscheGuy, there is a high probability that you have been spotting my car. I took delivery on Jan 14th, work in NC with offices within 50feet of the Chase building (but park only occasionally just in front of the construction activity), and typically commutebetween exit 31 and exit 36 off Merritt Parkway. My car is AS with black interior, 18' Cayman wheels and red calipers, sports seats, and other options that wouldnot be visible. Haven't driven the car for a couple weeks due to weather and vacation. Now that I'm back and the snow has gone, I'll be using my Cayman S on a regular basis. The other AS you spotted with TC interior must be another owner. Send me PM if you want to shoot the breeze. Nice to know there are other CClub members around.
Get used to the attention, you own the only car in the world that can draw every kid in a school bus to the window and lip sinc 'PORSCHE' at the same time. For what its worth, the Cayman proves that you can go home again.
Boy, you guys are brave given the weather we've had in Connecticut. I took VIN 0690 home way back in January (Fairfield Porsche), but between travel and all the **** on the roads, it is mostly waiting for a little better weather. Midnight blue/sand. Occasionally on the Merritt between 46 (Easton) and the NY line. - John
My wife saw a silver one in West Hartford, CT the other day ... i wasn't with her so not sure if it's AS or GT, but regardless I'll be adding a GT to the neighborhood within the next 2 weeks when mine arrives. I still have no firm date on pickup though ... have you had any news NPG?
Only my delaer saying it's not on the boat yet. Last report was Thursday 5/11. Unless there's a computer system updating delay, and we actually have been loaded on a boat, I'm beginning to lose hope for a May delivery. I recently hooked up with another guy at my office who's production date was a couple of days after mine. His car is getting shipped to Fairfield Motors, so I'd bet we'll all be getting delivery at the same time, whenever that is!
Spotted a Cayman S in West Hartford, CT this weekend ... black in color owned by a guy living in Farmington. It was going opposite direction of me (in my Volvo XC90 at the time), and I thought I'd turn around and give chase
He pulled into a gas station, so I pulled over and we chatted for a bit. He was unaware of the site, so I gave him the address and my handle, and encouraged him to check us out online ... maybe we'll see him here soon.
He's had his car about 3 weeks and has only about 200 miles on it so far (if I remember correctly) ... looked black interior as well with Sport Chrono, but I didn't really take a look inside (just could see through the fron windscreen). I think it was equipped with Boxter S 18in. wheels as well.
Although some rain had ruined his latest wax job, it did sound as if he's caring well for the car, although not happy with his current product (I pointed him Zaino's way).
Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
