hmmmm..... Delman... if you are not old enough... who owns the cayman?... is that daddy's?.... actually, who am i to poke fun. the Boxster is shared with my dad too... .... dont worry, just join.... and select METRO NY Region... we rock!
regards the rain.... it may be dry in the AM,,,, but Westbury is very careful regarding the property... if the ground gets soaked today... they will not be happy with 100+ cars rolling over the soft ground, causing ruts and mud holes... plus it may take a truck to pull the cars out of the mud after the event is over... that would be pretty funny... tow hooks are useful items...
so anyone on the Metro registration list, look our for a mail-blast with an update... my money is on cancellation. and so i clayed the car for nothing
rearding car care... any quick tips to get the funky coating off my rims? if i didnt know better, i'd swear the prvious owner clear coated the rims on the '44... he clear coated the car, why not the rims... yes, yes, it should not be clear coated... that is another story on another forum... anyway, whats good for grim on rims?

That sucks Jackie, I didn't even realized about the parking on grass bit. With the amount of rain today, the ground will definitely be soaked.
Let us know as soon as you hear anything. Maybe we can still do a meet later in the AM and head over to Detailing Dynamics or something. Any other ideas?
Bummer.

Yes let's do that. We can go to detailers Dynamics, all have lunch, and take a ride out on LI. I will be down for that! I'll be watching the posts (or PM's) to see what everyone decides.

"Well the weather is still not cooperating and the grounds of Old Westbury Gardens are a swamp. There is also a good change of rain overnight and in the morning.
Right now we are looking for another day. Next weekend is not possible due to the Zone 1 Rally and Concours.
Sunday May 25th is available. It is memorial day weekend, so keep that in mind. If we can retain a lot of participants, we can use that day.
Thanks for your understanding. I am as disappointed as you are.

I bet you guys are kicking yourselves for blowing off last weekend, it was so hot after the couple hours of grey.
Anyhow, do the serious Concours guys actually clean their own cars or even drive them to an event these days?

yup.... the Chair has been known to take off the lights, tape off all the rubber as if going to paint the car, etc,, do his cleaning thing, but it back together.... takes him at time, 3 weeks. of course evenings and weekend...
then drive it there, very slowly.... get there really early and re clean.
only the shop guys come in trailers. and those are historics
real shame is, we had 2 vintage race cars coming in... i think from the Rolex Vintage group who will be at Lime this year.
and double yes, he was kicking himself for cancelling last week.
but oh well, i hate getting stuck in mud.
we have some super serious concours people down here...

Any of you guys still feel like meeting up at Champion, maybe a bit later, then going for a drive and lunch? I know ezmoney is up for it.
I'm not familiar with Long Island at all so I'll defer to you guys for any ideas on what to do if we go for it.
I haven't heard from Matt (Detailing Dynamics) yet now that the Cocours is cancelled so I'm not sure if his shop will be open.
