Great weather today!

Hopefully everyone got to run their Cayman for a bit today! I was a bit bummed that the concours event was postponed but it was understandable seeing how wet everything was this morning.

I did my usual loop of Staten Island early this morning. Get on the SI Expressway westbound at Exit 13, take the West Shore south to Exit 1, then jump in the opposite direction and head back. About 40 miles total, hopefully enough to warm the oil up!

There were a few exit ramp curves that I was looking forward too, but at one I was boxed in by a guy driving a red F150 Lightning, remember those? The car in front of me on the 2 lane exit ramp to the West Shore was crawling and the F150 paced me exactly on my right preventing me from going around.

I'm slowing getting used to how the car feels after 3000 miles of mostly driving in temps of 40 degrees and below all winter ice skating on the summer tires. The car feels very planted on the curves, but I'm not going to push it until after my first AutoX and car control clinic when I can test the limits w/o guard rails!

Ever driven at any track events before? It's a blast. It's nice to do it in a safe and controlled situation to get a better feel for the car. Did you get snow tires for your CS?

Not too many events, 4 days Watkins and 1 day Lime Rock in my other cars, but this will be the first year with the Cayman.

Had a bad accident with a patch on black ice 2 years ago that has made me very timid on turns even now. Quattro and winter tires didn't help me with that incident.

No winter tires for the Cayman, got a winter set for the G35s instead. No need to take the Cayman out in the slush. My backyard has so many rims and tires laying around I don't want another set!

Anyone want a set of 16" summer tires and rims that'll fit an 97-2001 Audi A4?
