What: Empire Region Ferrari Club DE day
Where: Lime Rock Park, CT
When: Saturday, June 26, 9AM-1PM
See some rare cars on the newly repaved track at Lime Rock. If you've never been here before, be prepared to see great track hidden in the hills of CT with lots of great vantage points of the historic road course.
Depending on the amount of people interested, we may organize an impromptu cruise afterwards to a local lunch spot.
How much?
Free admission, sign a waiver at the track entrance. We'll park whereever there is room, plenty of space at the track.
CaymanClub meeting points.
First spot:
7:30-8:30AM at the rest stop off Northbound I-684.
Gaylordsville, Rt. 55 and Rt. 7 intersection. On the right, there is a grocery/deli and firehouse with ample parking, just past a level bridge over the Housatonic River.
The first group will head over to the second meet spot by 9:00AM and we'll all leave for Lime Rock by 9:30 AM.
If you can't make it to these spots, don't worry, just head up to Lime Rock Park directly and look for the group of Caymans in the lower parking area.
There is a nice place closeby to the track with ample parking that we can go for lunch:

Save the date, Saturday July 26.
After speaking with some of our members, it seems that a lot of us are interested in making a trip back to Lime Rock to watch the NorthEast Ferrari Club in their annual track event.
Hey, any excuse to get a bunch of Cayman owners together for a drive, right?
Those of us coming up from the south will probably meet at the I-684 rest stop like the last time. Any members from MA or further up thinking about coming to this event? We can setup another meet point further north for your caravan.
Entry into LimeRock is free after signing a waiver and the paddock will be filled with some rare and unique Ferraris. This will also be a chance to check out the "new" Lime Rock since they'll be finished with the repaving and reconfiguration of the track.

I plan to be at the 684 northbound rest stop Saturday morning to wait for other club members.
We'll take 684N to 84East to Rt.7 north all the way to LimeRock.
Unfortunately there's really no spot on Rt.7 to pull over a large group of cars to connect with other members. There's Kent Falls State Park right on Rt. 7, but to park there would cost $10 on the weekend!

I am still interested in attending the Ferrari Club meet at Lime Rock July 26. Will be bringing my son in the CS. If my wife attends, will bring the family vehicle.
Would anyone be interested in a second mini-meeting point? There is a location to meet along the way north on Route US 7 in New Milford, CT. It is a Staples parking lot in New Milford, 6 miles north of the end of the highway portion of Route 7, on the left hand side. Address: Fairfield Plaza, 122 Danbury Rd, New Milford, CT 06776.
So there is no registration requirement or entry fee to Lime Rock for spectators?

The last few years that I've gone for the club events there was no entrance fee. You just have to sign a waiver at the track gate and in you go.
I just looked at your address and that is fairly close to our original meeting point at the rest stop.
Let's see how the group responds, we may just meet at the 684 rest stop for the guys heading up from the city then swing by there to meet the rest of the Cayman group.
Rt.7 on the way to LimeRock is a fun road towards Rt.115, just make sure you don't get stuck behind a camper!

Magnetic K - The second meeting point works for me as I'll be coming from Newtown. Count me in.
Great! I will meet ArticCay and any other interested Ferrari fans at the Staples parking lot in New Milford. We'll wait there for PistolPete and his cohorts. Just let us know what time you want to meet, Pete.

Bad news everyone. I just got off the phone with the track office and they can't assure me that the track will be open for non-owners at this event.
With LimeRock being a private club now, we may be turned away at the gate for this event. Since most of us aren't Ferrari owners (yet , I don't think it'll be worth it make such a long drive with the chance of being turned back.
I'm not sure if this was the standard disclaimer they give everyone over the phone, but I was told that this event is very popular with non-owners that the club my just turn folks away to avoid the hoards.
I do know that 2-years ago I was able to get in with no issues for the Ferrari event. Last year I attended PCA Club Races and an Aston Martin Day too.
Does anyone have a higher level contact in LimeRock to confirm? I'm open to other suggestions from the group but at this point it's not looking that great.
