Any Long Island Cayman owners?

Just curious how many members might reside on Long Island? When I had my Corvette, many Corvette forum members would get together at Cap Tree (now OBI parking lot to avoid the parking charge) parking lot on Sunday mornings. The turnout is very good, primarily Corvette and Mustangs, but a good share of Porsches, Ferraris, Lambo's, and many classics as well. I have seen a lot of Turbo's, GT2's and 3's there, but can not recal seeing many Cayman's. I will be there this Sunday weather permitting and look forward to meeting some forum members.

Last time I was at Captree Park there was no parking fee. When did that start? Where's OBI?

Memorial Day -> Labor Day

The Captree meet is really a fall and Spring thing. I can't say I have been to the OBI lot. An alternative is Bear Mountain on a Wednesday nite.

Look here for some alternatives:

OBI or Oak Beach Inn was a nightclub off Ocean Parkway east of Jones Beach (see Oak Beach Inn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Captree State Park is at the east end of Ocean Parkway (New York State Parks :: Maps). Ocean Parkway is fairly straight and flat, but patrolled by state troopers and park police, especially during the summer season.

I haven't been there in a long time. I remember that it can get crowded with all the beach traffic.

Here are some picts of cars at Captree this past Feb. I'm sure the turnout is much larger now with the warm weather.

Directions to OBI Sunday Car Show

Once the summer has ended, and right up until Labor Day, the car show is every Sunday at Cap Tree parking lot. After Labor Day, the parking lot charges $4 or $6 to park, so the car show is moved to the old OBI parking Lot. Simply take Ocean Beach Parkway towards Jones Beach/Cap Tree and instead of going East on Cap Tree exit, go West. The parking lot is down about 1.5 miles on the left hand side. It gets pretty full on nice days, with most people getting there at around 0700 and leaving around 11.

I knew about it but never made it there. I'll try to cruze on by this Sunday. Thanks for posting the hours and new OBI location. If you don't see my white CS will you please give us a report?

BTW: Ever make it down to Bald Hill (Brookhaven Amphitheater) on a Summers Tues. night? Lots of cars (mostly muscle).

I will have to look into Bald Hill on Tuesdays. I have friends with Mustangs who live in Lake Grove and Setauket who go on a regular basis, but I have yet to join them traveling out east from Farmingdale is a little much after work and spending time with the family, but maybe one of these days. I will be at OBI/Cap Tree this Sunday with a bunch of Corvette/Mustangs friends. I look forward to meeting anyone who should come down. I will have the Midnight Blue Cayman S. Have a great weekend all.

Question Let's do a Cayman Cruise on LI

I live in CT. I am new to the North East.

I would like to catch a ferry to LI in my CS. I don't know much about LI. I would like to cruise out to Montauk. What do you think? Any nice areas for cruising and looking at boats. What date would you guys like to join me.
