Some basic items you need to buy and bring with you.
1. Goto Target and buy an 18-gal rubbermaid plastic tub that will fit in the Cayman front trunk. When you are driving at the track, ALL the items in the car must be emptied and left in the parking area. You can keep all the stuff in this tub with a lid on in case it rains.
2. Get a folding chair, you'll spend a lot of time sitting and resting between runs.
This was our setup during our last Autocross.
3. Bring some water, window cleaner and paper towels. Bring blue painters tape to tape your car number on and to protect the front of your car. I'm tired of lending my tape to everyone!
Don't worry too much, you'll have a lot of fun. We'll talk more this Sunday.

Try and get to the track about 6:30 Saturday morning. At the main gate you will need to sign the track waiver. Ask for directions to the inner gate (first left & first right I think) Stop at the inner gate & sign NNJ PCA waiver & get your driver wrist band. Find a place to park and empty out your car. Put on your car # & head to the tech line with your helmet & completed tech form. Pop your trunk hatches & follow the tech guys instructions. They will put your sticker on the car & give you the run group schedule for the day. Go back to your parking spot and visit with the other Porsche track junkies. Drivers meeting will be @ 7:45 to explain the event rules. You will be given a color coded card with your instructor name. After the drivers meeting go to your car and the instructor will find you and introduce him or herself.
You will also have a work assignment, gate, tower, staging, or tech line. Seek out the person in charge and let them know it's your first event. They will tell you when to show up & tell you what to do.
When its time for your run group to stage meet your instructor and get in the staging line. For the first run the instructor will drive your car ( pretty slowly) for a lap or two to show you the line.
Looking forward to meeting you. I drive a midnight blue CS #120

Alright, my tech inspection was completed yesterday with no issues found. Plenty of brake pad left in the front and back. Whew, I can finally using my brakes again driving around, I've been avoiding them the last few weeks.
Looks like they'll be a 50% chance of rain this weekend, I hope this will change as we get closer to the date.
Oh and Cayman_Ken I'll see you at the reception because Friday will be a mess for me as I have to work things to take care of so I'm not sure when I can leave for PA. Things can still change however and we maybe able to head out there together. I do look forward to trying some of those hot dogs!
