That's right ezmoney, I've been soliciting help from folk(s) that I know are local to the area and can help with the route.
Don't worry if you're not contacted (yet), that just means you get to enjoy the ride more with no pressure!
I definitely appreciate all the offers for assistance however so keep them coming! ezmoney & mutant tuna have the route-scout roles covered right now.
Right now I'm looking to see if anyone in our diverse group has contact info for the Mohonk Mtn. house. I'm thinking of possibly arranging a concours-like parking layout somewhere on their grounds.

I believe they have a huge parking lot that they valet the cars in, which is open to the public as well so maybe we can all gather there instead of the grass
Looks like I have a previous engagement on Oct 18.
So I am praying for rain that day, so that I can join you guys on the rain date the following week.

The original idea of having the lunch stop at the Mohonk Mountain House has been scraped because of problems with reservations. We now have four possible alternatives that are being researched.
I'll up date this as we do more research. We will visit each of these restaurants and look over the facilities and talk to the manager or owner of each.
Any feed back on the progress so far would be appreciated.
Edit: If you look at the route map you will see that we have some roads where we can 'stretch' it out some. There are other roads that are narrow, twisty, and have large elevation changes. The road between way points E and F for example has 1000' of elevation change in 3.7 miles. There are lots of turns in that 3.7 miles!

This looks like it'll be an amazing route that will really put our Caymans to the test.
So for any of you still on the fence about joining us, just do it! Winter will be here soon enough and you don't want to be sitting there thinking coulda/shoulda/woulda.
We still have month to go before this event so please add your name to the list. The more accurate headcount we have, the easier it'll be for us to plan everything.
The leaves should be at their peak that weekend. Plenty of great picture opportunities for your Cayman scrapbook!

I just got back from Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. I went to all 4 restaurants on my previous post. The River Station Restaurant and Spanky's restaurant are definitely out. The Culinary Institute of America can not give us reservations as a group. We would have to reserve 9 months in advance. It would be everyone for themselves and even then they might not be able to seat us all.
Shadows on the Hudson is a two year old restaurant that has room for our group. The parking is more than enough. We can make reservations, cancel and re- book if the weather is not good on 10/18 and we have to do the drive on 10/25. I will post more information after I communicate with PistolPete. We can then post pictures.

Count me in for the 18th, but I can't make the rain date (it conflicts with a Metro NY DE at NJ Motorsports Park.) This should be a terrific ride! TIA to all of the organizers.
