Fellow Cayman Owners - We hope to get a group together for Sunday, October 15, to take a ride through the beautiful countryside of Litchfield County, CT, ending at the G.W. Tavern in Washington Depot. The quaintrestaurant overlooks a brook, lovely country surroundings and fall foliage and offers excellent food. We would meet at a convenient spot on I-684 at about 10 a.m. and then travel picture perfect back roads for a fun afternoon and good conversation. We will make arrangements if there is enough interest. Notify us by October9.
If you are interested in driving farther, there is an autocross school in Ct in the morning and a small autocross event in the afternoon on Oct 15 in Eastern Ct.
Since I'm still Cayman-less, I plan to attend the start of run #1 and get some picts of the exotics. Run #2 is just a bit to far for me to get to that early in the morning.
Sunday morning was a perfect time for the car runs and apparently several groups had the same idea! In addition to the two runs mentioned, there was a BMW M car gathering and another exotic car fundraiser run.
This would explain all the traffic around Bear Mountain Bridge on Sunday.
Here are a few pictures from the start of the large run in Edgewater. I'm trying to move away from the plain old car shots from 3/4 view. Not sure my attempts are working, but hey, digital pictures are free!
The driver of the silver F430 was in the can when the rest of the group took off. It was surreal to have an empty parking lot with the one car in the middle. I was able to get a few good shots with an 80-200mm zoom before the guy ran out like a manic to catch the rest of the run.
Click on the "original" link at the bottom of each picture for a hi-res version. Enjoy!
I think there is another impromptu car meet at Captree State park on Long Island early Sunday morning (8AM-11AM)
Might be worth a quick visit.
The NNJR PCA chapter will have another track event at LimeRock on Saturday Nov. 11. Another caravan possibility?

I'm definitely up for a caravan to LimeRock. I just picked up a new camera and need to get some practice shooting moving objects.
Although I'm not an owner yet (holding out for spring), I hope no one would mind me tagging along (Audi A4). I'll pay my dues by taking as many pictures of your cars as possible!
Wow, there's a chance I might be able to make the Lime Rock event on 11/11. Amazing! Now I just have to make sure nothing else gets scheduled for that day...
I looked into the Saturday (Nov 11) event a bit further. The Lime Rock event appears to be run by the Connecticut Valley Region club. The track opens at 7 AM; festivities start at 9 AM. The weather for Saturday should be okay.
Who's in for a caravan to Lime Rock? What time and where should we meet? Is there a standard exit off the Hutch that people always use for this sort of thing? Having never done this before, I shall defer to the wisdom of others.
Also, once we get there, other than hanging out with a bunch of Porsche folks, what will we be able to do? I understand the driving spots are all taken up; would it be possible for us to at least get a ride with someone on the track? Also, do I need to be a PCA member to get in?
Thanks in advance for the info.

When you get to the track, find the track chair and see if they can get you a ride-along with an instructor car. Depending on the amount of participants in the event, there may be a chance to hitch a ride.
Unfortunately for me I have to work tomorrow and I'm really bummed that I'll miss this event...
