Rt 95 Alternatives in CT

My firm recently merged and is having an "all hands" meeting tomorrow (Saturday) in New Haven, CT. I am coming from northern NJ so on MapQuest its a 95 N deal. Anyone know any routes that are a little more Cayman friendly that are worth getting off the main highway for? Thank in advance.

holy smokes, yes!!!

take g.s. pkwy or 287 north to tappan zee bridge. take 287 east to hutchison/merritt pkwy exit. take merritt pkwy north to new haven....

check out the map here.... http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8...l=en&tab=wl&q=

the merritt pkwy is scenic, no-trucks and there's some nice twists-n-turns.

enjoy!!!

Thanks much for the quick response. Fyi, that link just brings up the world, but I can map it out using your summary. Thanks again, 95 just seemed too boring for the early morning drive.

The Merritt is a great drive. There are some ridiculously short onramps to the Parkway so be careful at interchanges.

The Merritt worked out beautifully. Thanks for the tip. Couple of nice 911s passed by as I stopped for gas, new model S and a slightly older C4S. Must have distracted me bc I managed to screw up self serve and put 89 instead of the 93 in the car. (some excuse)

I am glad you enjoyed the ride. I am glad you stayed away from I95 on a weekend. I lot of wackos and road rage on I95.

I have 3600 miles on my CS. All those miles are the result of my extensive cruising on the scenic 2 lane roads across the state of CT.
