Driving home today it struck me that it is still November and every pond I pass on the way is frozen over. Having moved to Zone 10 from Zone 3 (AL) this was a ominous realization.
How do you plan for your Cayman to spend the winter?
If you are looking for winterizing tips there are several threads on that and the manual also has good tips. There are also some threads devoted to driving in the winter as well.

In a dark garage, sometimes lit up with lightning strikes and van Degraff generators while the mad scientist works on it - on a tilting table with a white sheet on it. Come spring Frankaymanstein rolls out with new parts to terrorize the neighbourhood. That is my version of it anyway....... Back to your regular programming.

I've switched over to my winter tires (Alpins), and now just waiting for some snow to go out and play in.

Since winter comes early here in the frozen north, (it was -25C or -13F last night), I put my car away for the winter in October. Winter routine as follows, wash , wax, clean interior, install gas line antifreeze, fuel stabilizer, pump up tires to 45PSI and install car cover. I have it stored in my heated garage and have the Porsche supplied battery charger plugged in to maintain the electrical system.
I stare out the window until April in envy of all those in warmer climates, and the brave souls in Alberta who drive their cars all winter, I just can't subject my toy to the elements, rock chips and salt spray make me cringed.
I need to convince my wife that we need a winter home in Texas or Arizona; I could find a nice used Cayman to drive while I’m there, maybe near a track that has AX and DE days. I belived her reply would be "dream on".

The same way it spent the summer. Me driving it every day and going any where I want to go albeit with Bridgstone Blizzak LM-25's and 18" Cayman S wheels vs. the 19" Carrera Classics and Conti II's. Oh yeah I have started using the heated seats and have increased the climate control temperature settings.
I am torn between putting it up for the winter to protect it and driving it. The snow and ice doesn't bother me as much as the salt and rocks they use to melt it.
I think gtscayman has the best idea, but will probably end up closer to Polar's plan. I wouldn't mind putting on some Blizzaks or Alpins, but still holding out for some used 18" rims.
joel-cs is selling some used CS wheels in the Classifieds for $1000 (if they haven't sold yet) - or you can do what I did, and bought some new Cayman S replica wheels from WheelEnhancement.com for about the same price.

My wife will be driving it every day unless the snow is greater than the ground clearance. We now have a new set of Alpins on which should do the trick. For the salt, which is used too much here, we purchased one of those two gallon hand pump pesticide spayers. Before bringing the car into the garage we will take some warm, clean water and spray it down.

Hilarious.
