Mark your calendar today for what should be one of the most interesting tech sessions yet.
What: Review of Porsche "Cup" racing cars through the years. 964, 996, and 997 versions will be featured.
When: Saturday, April 12th 10:00am
Where: The Motorplex in Chanhassen (Take Audubon Road 1/2 mile south of Hwy 5 on the right.)
What is a "Cup" car? These are race cars built by Porsche orginally to race in the Porsche Cup series. There are now a number of Cup series around the world and these cars are also racing in several other series, including
PCA racing. They are quite rare with 2008 production setting a record of 265 worldwide.
We will have several of them at this Tech Session, including 964, 996, and 997 versions. Jim Breakey who has owned several of them will lead a discussion of how they have changed over the years as well as how they differ from the street 911. To spark even more discussion, we will have a new GT3-RS on display. How close is the GT3-RS street car to the "Cup" racing car? Find out for yourself on Saturday, April 12th at the Motorplex.
