Anyone interested in a seat swap (sport seats for regular seats)?
I recently picked up a 2006 Cayman S. I love the car but I'm a larger guy and I think that the sport seats are a bit too narrow for me. I'm looking for someone who would be interested in swapping their regular black leather seats for my sport seats. I would also be interested in the power or adaptive sport seats, as well. If anyone is at all interested, please let me know and we can discuss in more detail.
I think I've decided that, if I can't find other seats that fit me, I'm going to have to get rid of the car.
I live in Minneapolis but would be willing to discuss options with pretty much anyone.
You could sell the sport seats, buy a set of regular seats and pocket the difference. The sport seats are more valuable.

Can you post pictures of the seats? Let me know if you are wiling to sell
I'm certainly willing to sell and I know that the sports seats cost more, but I can't sell the seats without finding something to replace them with. As it is, the seats are not comfortable for me. While I love the idea of seats with bolsters, they need to be comfortable (for both short and long trips) and also need to look good. That doesn't mean that they need to be stock but, for example, the color needs to match and I don't want them to look out of place.
The seats are absolutely flawless (6500 miles on the car) but, yes, I can try to get some pictures in the near future.
RMN, et al - While the forums are here for members to communicate with each other on a myriad of topics, this thread is definitely turning into something that should be handled in the classifieds, and not the forums.
RMN - if you want to post pictures of the seats for others to see, please place a free classified ad in the classifieds section, and those interested can turn their attention to them there. For those interested, please take a look for RMN's classified ad.
Please, no more dickering, etc. in this thread. If you'd like to discuss the various merits of sport seats vs. regular seats or other advice for the OP - fell free to do it here, but please, no more commerce.
Thanks in advance,
brad

no problem... thanks for the heads up. I'll make a post in the classifieds for the seat swap thing.
I am interested in understanding what all my options are, so I hope that topic isn't verboten.
I have read through other threads and I know that there are a number of aftermarket seats (or Porsche seats from other cars) that I can buy and install. It sounds like they all have some sort of downside, though: expensive and/or don't work with the airbags and/or don't look right and/or aren't comfortable for long trips. Perhaps one of the stock seats is my best option.
How do the other stock seats compare to the regular and sport seats? Are the power seats just the regular seats but with power? The adaptive seats probably aren't much of an option anyway...

Have you tried the Porsche dealers? They also sell perowned cars... Buyers of these preowned cars may be willing and most likely interested in an upgrade....
beez is right (hey, are you joining the POC event in LV this month???) but FWIW, anyone who made the mistake of not getting the sport seats to begin with, if it is convenient to connect with this guy, do it. They are superior. You can do the swap easily, just need to buy the proper torx socket to remove them. The sport seats are great and I am 230 pounds big. (keep that last part secret. You never know when you might want to position yourself differently on craigs list
I tried the sports seats (I am a little guy.. sort of), but hated the feeling of being inside a taco. Later I found out that the bolsters on the side might be adjustable, something to try, if you haven't done so.
