hi hudson, here's 3 pix i took yesterday while on a car cruise with some guys who had the clear bra on...forst 2 pix is on a metallic black car, 3rd pic is on a metallic dark gray car (a shade lighter than your meteor gray)...
you can see the wax line, as well as how the texture changes the reflection of the paint...i know you already said you werent gonna do it, but i figure i snap the shots for so you you have something to base your decision on...
yeah, personally i dont like them...i dont think you'll be happy with it either...and while it offers some protection, some rocks chips will still get through the clear bra...the owner of the 3rd car showed me a spot where a rock chipped through the bra and got to the paint...
another option is a traditional bra, but i despise those even more, since they change the look of the car, and can scratch the paint underneath...also, after it rains and the sun comes out, i think the bra will "steam" the paint underneath...i've had this happen to my other car when i left magnetic numbers (from racing) on the side of the car and the sun came out afterwards...had to buff the paint afterwards, and the numbers were only on the car for a day...
just think of the rock chips as battle scars that give your cayman some character, and all will be fine
If anyone is interested; This company has a good product and will send a crew to Oahu if we can give them a minimum of 15 cars. They have done work here before and I'm sure that they will provide customer references.

I was Christmas shopping. I'll try to pick it up later. I saw a black Cayman at Pearlridge Sears on Saturday, was that you?
Aloha. Installation really is the key. In the pictures posted above, there are some fairly visible installation flaws - stretch marks and lift marks. Film clarity is quite important as well. Many installers prefer to use film with quite a bit of orange peel texture (as is the case in the pictures above) to help hide installation flaws. There are films on the market with excellent clarity...below are some pictures to depict this. It is a combination of both quality installation and film clarity.

I just had one installed on my '07 CS, Meteor Gray, and it isn't nearly as visible as it is on this car. The installer, AutoSpa of Hilton Head, SC (Auto Spa of Hilton Head Island), used a new material just received and it looks pretty good. There is a wrinkle on one mirror which will be fixed. This stuff has a 7 year warranty, so I'm not as concerned as I was before getting it put on. Like many, I hated the idea of this thing, but you can't see it from a few feet away and it will save paint repair and eliminate the need to use painter's tape for DEs and autox.
Note that the web site for Auto Spa has a Speed Yellow Cayman prominently displayed on the main page!
