Poser, can we come and watch? How does one enter? What's the procedure? Thanks!
sure you can come and watch...well, there's a dedicated spectator area, but that area is away from the cars and "pit" area...
it's held at the lower halawa parking lot of the aloha stadium (the lot where the 50th state fair is held)...just go to the gate and they'll make you sign a waiver...tell them you're part of the pit crew for jayson guzman, and they shouldnt give you a problem getting in (i'm one of the scca officials)...make your way in, and just ask anyone where i am-and they should point me out to you...if they give you a hard time (they shouldnt) tell them to call for me over the radio...
i'll PM you my number, so you can reach me in case you need to...i'll be instructing for most of the morning, but towards the later part of the day, we can take students/guests out for fun runs, so bring closed toe shoes and you old motorcycle helmet and i can take you out on a run or two...
Okay, my car went in today to get the AC and the 3rd brake light gasket taken care of. Keith said there were about six cars that reported the same problem (gasket). The result? They fixed the gasket but can't find the AC leak.
So, on March 29 - added refrigerant / dye, Sept. 18 - added more refrigerant / more dye. Let's hope it makes it to the annual service before it needs to be recharged.
And, I took a closer look at my battery cover. It's really not warped; it's just that one of the fasteners doesn't screw in as well as it should so one end of the cover sits high.

Like the movie ... it's baaack! The radio was playing sounds of silence yesterday, driving home from the office. And, as before, it worked perfectly this morning. ARRGH!!! No sense taking it to the dealer ... until the next time.

The AC on my CS was found to have a coolant leak due to a loose O ring; you might ask them to check that...
I'm heading for my third round of repairs on Thursday, when the dealer will investigate the passenger side blower. It goes on often after I start the car, before it's even been warmed up.
When the CS was 4 days old, it wouldn't start and had to be towed. I was told that loose wires had lost their connection to the battery.
At 2,000 miles and again at 4,000 miles, the clutch stuck to the floor and the air conditioner started blowing less cold. The slave cylinder and O ring were replaced.
I'm a bit frustrated over the issues, but LOVE the ride. What are ya gonna do?
They had the car all day two times trying to find the leak. They put in dye the first time I took it in -- they still can't find the leak. Wherever it is; it's a slow one.
Yes, it's the niggling little problems that drive one nuts, but then the rewards are great too! Is this becoming a love/hate relationship? I hope not ...
