although this is old news, i received a letter from marty, the new general manager of porsche of hawaii, introducing himself and informing me that sean (my salesperson) relocated to the mainland. aka wani and others on this forum had already informed me of the changes, but i thought i was nice of marty to send out such a letter. he even extended an invitation for me to visit so that we could meet.
i think that i'll attempt to drop by the dealership to say hi as i haven't been there since i picked up my car nearly 8 months ago.

Gee, I didn't get a letter, nor did I get a response to an email query I sent him. He had one of his sales people call me. And, it's not like he's never met me.

perhaps because you've already met marty, he felt that it was not necessary to send you a letter introducing himself. or perhaps your letter is in the mail (although the letter was dated Dec. 21, the envelop was postmarked Dec. 29 and i received it on Dec. 31).
in all events, i don't believe it was to slight you.
I didn't make my intentions clear in my post. To clarify:
1) I didn't meet Mr. Barger at POH; I "knew" him when he was at Honda Windward.
2) I emailed him my query about having problems with my shoulder and asked for information on a Tiptronic-equipped car, anything but a Cayenne. He didn't acknowledge my message; he had William Thompson call me. (William was very helpful.)
It may be true that letters similar to yours are in still in transit to the rest of us ... and USPS may have a role - my (Amazon) order of the Lost Season 3 DVD box set was lost in the mail - ironic, isn't it?
And, I'm not really complaining ... I didn't expect Marty to remember me but I would have appreciated a response from him to my email query. And, I recently saw excerpts from a speech by Dr. Esser from Porsche about the demographics of the typical Porsche owner ... "The typical Porsche owner regardless of country is male (90%), 45 years old, married (75%), and has an income of $400,000." That person IS NOT ME, except for the married part.

Well I'm a male, almost 45, and married, but my income is not $400,000 or I'd have a GT3RS, and a Ferrari. Maybe thats why I didn't get a letter.

Aka Wani = Red Croc, formerly known as "The Kloser".
i'm a male and almost 45, but not married, and as for income...well, lets just say that i'm a public servant, and unless you're june jones, taxpayers will not tolerate anyone on the state payroll making anywhere near $400k. the governor only makes something like $120k/yr., although i understand that the superintendent of education makes something like $150k/yr.

i understand now. he should have at least acknowledged your inquiry.

yes, it is ironic...but thats the usps. sometimes it takes forever, and sometimes they deliver quicker than you'd expect. it took only a couple of days for me to receive the definitive gold box edition of "twin peaks" from amazon using their standard usps shipping.

The letter seems to be your basic form letter which is somewhat impersonal in my case since I’ve spoken to Marty probably a half dozen times or so in the last month. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before everyone gets one unless they run out of stamps.

That is pretty funny having your copy of Lost getting lost.
