Maui Visit Fine Dining Suggestions

Wife and I (and other extanded family) will be coming to Maui for her sisters wedding in April. (Kanapali area).

We'll probably stay at the Alii but we're looking for recommendations for fine dining experiences in Maui.

Any suggestions appreciated. Any Caymanites in Maui?

Cheers
Bob

Here's a place my wife and I really enjoyed a couple of years ago:

I second the vote for Bev Gannon's Haili'maile, although it's not really fine dining, just great food.

Lahaina Grill (closer to Kaanapali).

For something casual, that sometimes offers interesting specials, Makawao Steak House - off the beaten path, not close to Kaanapali. I had lobster medallions in puff pastry there once. It was sublime.

I was in Maui in Dec. '06 for my honeymoon. The best meal I have ever had was at Mama' Fish House Welcome to Mama's Fish House Restaurant and Inn - Maui, Hawaii

I was there for lunch and had the Grilled Wild Ahi and Nueske’s Smoked Bacon Sandwich, amazing. The restaurant is right on the water with amazing views. A reservation is a must.

If you ned a recommendation for accomidations I stayed at Ho'oilo House - Maui's Most Luxurious Bed and Breakfast and will definitely be going back.

The B&B recommended the following restaurants:
Pacific'O Restaurant :: Maui Oceanfront Dining :: Maui Restaurant, Lahaina Restaurant, Fine Dining on Maui, Maui Catering Services, Maui Wedding Reception
I'O Restaurant Lahaina Maui Hawaii
PaginaInicio, Todo la Red al alcance de un Click
Maui Restaurants - Maui Dining - Lahaina Grill

My wife and I also ate at Pacific O's and loved it. One suggestion is that there is a cattle ranch on the island, near a vineyard. On the ranch they have a general store which serves excellent hamburgers. I recommend taking a drive to the vineyard for a tasting, and lunch on the ranch. I don't know the name of the ranch, but I believe it is the only one on Maui. If it isn't just ask someone for the one near a vineyard. The vineyard makes pineapple champagne which was featured on Emeril's TV show.

I think you're referring to Ulupalakua Ranch, where Tedeschi Vineyards are located. That's quite a drive from Kaanapali; at least to us islanders.

BTW, I think A Pacific Cafe closed.

Mama's fish house is my favorite.
But if thats were you go make reservations now. Last summer, if you did not have reservations it was almost a 2-3 hour wait.
