Just wondering if anyone is in or near Tampa. I'm wondering if there are local groups who are involved in auto crossing...if you know of anyone please let me know as I'd like to give it a try.
Tom Bolen and I are in Tampa. Tom just bought his Croc last week.
Unfortunately, I do not autoX and I'm not sure if Tom does. If you do not get any responses please PM me since one of my staff autoX's a Z06 at SCCA national levels. I may be able to "hook" you up or at least let you know when and where the next event is.
Hi Drew - Like Vic said I just got mine last week. I don't autocross, but if you are ever interested in track time make sure you check out Chin MotorSports.
It is operated by Wei-Shen Chin who is very active in the NSX community.
Lots of events around Florida to play.
I love his slogan " for less than the cost of a speeding ticket..." http://www.chinmotorsports.com/default.asp
Hi, I'm in Tampa too. The Suncoast Region PCA runs autocross several times a year check out htt://www.pca.org/sfl.autocross.htm.
Cheers.

I am in Miami but have been autocrossing for a while now. Mostly in a fully prepped CSP miata and only recently with the Cayman S.
The best location to autocross is in Buckingham Airfield in Ft. Myers. Here is the link to GCAC (http://gulfcoastautocrossers.com/). Saturday is the autocross school (I'm one of the instructors) along with test and tune (there are two lots). Sunday is the competition which is held on a bigger lot. The next event is November 4-5. Events are usually held on the first weekend of each month. Most people stay overnight on Saturday. I highly recommend the school since you are likely to get the most runs and will run on two very different courses.
If you decide to make the drive, feel free to e-mail me with any questions at: jjalemany@hklaw.com
cheers, JJ

I'm in Tampa too!
I haven't done autocross in quite a while, but I hit the track every chance I get. In fact, I'll be at the Suncoast Region instructor school this weekend at Sebring. (Only a two drive from Tampa) I'll be there in the Atlas Gray '07 S - car number 987. Stop by and say hello!
I'll also be at Homestead December 9 & 10 at the PBOC event

Spotted one (Arctic Silver) parked in front of the Marriott Tampa Waterside Hotel, the other day while I'm down here on business (SHARE meeting). Interesting they left it parked on the hotel circle, along with the Maserati and Corvette C6.
Drew, if you are still interested in autocrossing Suncoast region has one this weekend, Sunday February 11, at the Zephyrhills airport a little northeast of Tampa. Details are on the website, or if you have questions let me know.
They had a good event there last month, 5 runs on a fairly long and fast course. The schedule is on their web site with one almost every month.
