The track is great! I drove the full course (3.5 miles, 17 turns) in June with the Chicago Region DE event. It had rained in the morning and there are some spots on the track that continued to drain throughout most of the day despite the rest of the course being dry. With a width of 40 feet there is plenty of room for passing. There are three straights that offer the opportunity to get the CS up to about 115 mph. One of the straights has a slight hill at the end followed by a 90 degree turn so that you lead up to the braking zone totally blind and must rely on the corner workers to tell you if there is trouble on the other side of the rise. Fun stuff.
The track can also be broken into two separate courses appropriately called North and South. This allows members to get on the track while other (revenue producing) groups run the other course.
I understand they will be building some condos soon.
I was also with the Napleton group that drove from Westmont down to the track with a police
escort. Imagine some 70 to 80 Porsches all parading through town and down the expressway. Very impressive sight. We got one photo with the entire entrance ramp from I-55 to I-355 totally filled with Porsche vehicles (I will post when I get home).
